Professional development is one of the goals in Matilda project. The grant from the National Board of education made it possible for the tutors to participate in Literature and ITC courses. The city of Espoo organized two "educational afternoons" , where the tutors shared their experience with other teachers. |

In Matilda project we
wanted to increase reading literature not just among Matilda students but also in their
home classrooms and schools. In order to promote literature education in the school level we had a tailored course for 24 teachers from these six schools. The lecturer was Ms. Helena Linna, a true expert in teaching literature. |

The teacher teams planned and carried out some literature projects at their schools. Every school was also visited by famous Finnish authors. |
